Psychological Well-Being for Practical Change

I have had the opportunity to work as a psychologist in many different settings for over three decades. In addition to my work as a psychotherapist with individuals, couples and leaders in industry, I have held positions in business, academia, and in research-based enterprises. I also hosted a radio talk show on WRKO, Boston, for four years. Maintaining this variety in my career has helped me to gain many interesting perspectives on the predictable obstacles we face as people, the behaviors that can be changed over time, and the inherent resiliency that we all have when we choose to tap health, curiosity, and optimism. I always approach my work with a strong belief that people have the capacity to creatively change directions in their lives and to become increasingly more self-aware. Self-awareness is a cornerstone of the resiliency that is required in a world that is complex.

I believe that the majority of my clients all have a reservoir of positive psychological health and emotional intelligence, and therefore I focus on their available resources for change. Too often therapists will highlight the negatives, or the “dis-ease” in their clients.  I am more interested in individual strengths, one’s readiness for practical change, and how critical thinking impacts our life journey.

Besides working with clients on a face-to-face basis, I also conduct coaching and counseling sessions via confidential, web-based platforms and through the telephone. I am always available and happy to discuss your specific goals before we decide to work with one another. A positive match between you and me is a critical ingredient for your success.
